ConvertCalm is engineered with an unwavering local-first privacy commitment. Your image and video files, photographs, audio tracks, EXIF/metadata, camera information, GPS coordinates, and compression settings remain strictly on your Mac. DamilanTech does not operate remote processing servers, user tracking databases, or behavioral profile collectors for ConvertCalm.

1. Scope and Data Controller

This Privacy Policy applies to the ConvertCalm macOS application and website pages located at damilantech.com. The data controller for any voluntary support inquiries sent to [email protected] is DamilanTech - By. Daniel J.

2. Local-First Engine Architecture

ConvertCalm performs all image optimization, format conversions (PNG, JPEG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, SVG, GIF), quality calculations, and perceptual 64-bit duplicate image scanning entirely on your device. The app uses macOS CoreGraphics, ImageIO, and local open-source binaries (cwebp) bundled inside the application container. No image binary data or metadata is ever uploaded to cloud APIs.

Video & Audio Studio (New in 2.1): Video conversion, trimming, GIF generation, and audio muting/extraction (MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, M4A) are processed entirely on-device using Apple's native AVFoundation and VideoToolbox hardware-accelerated frameworks (Apple Silicon and Intel). No video or audio file, frame, or waveform is ever uploaded to a server.

3. Strict No-Tracking Guarantee

The ConvertCalm macOS app does not include third-party advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, behavioral analytics, or telemetry SDKs. We do not monitor which files you process, how often you compress images, or the output formats you select.

4. App Store Purchases & Licensing

Product purchases and lifetime entitlements are handled directly through Apple's Mac App Store infrastructure and StoreKit framework. Apple independently processes payment transactions under Apple's Privacy Policy. DamilanTech does not store or process credit card numbers or billing addresses.

5. Local File System & Permissions

ConvertCalm requests access only to files and directories you select via standard macOS open panels or drag-and-drop interactions. File paths and output folder settings are stored locally in standard macOS UserDefaults within your sandbox container.

6. Privacy Shield & Metadata Stripping

ConvertCalm includes an optional Privacy Shield / EXIF Inspector feature that lets you view and remove camera model data, GPS location coordinates, exposure settings, dates, and author metadata locally from both image and video output files prior to saving or sharing. This inspection and removal happens entirely on-device.

7. Support Communications & Diagnostic Logs

If you contact technical support or use the "Report Issue to Support" feature within the System Logs tab in the app, we receive the email address you use and any technical log messages you choose to include. This information is used strictly to provide customer support and troubleshoot application defects.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

All application settings, queue items, and session history remain stored locally on your device until you reset or uninstall the application. Support emails are deleted once your inquiry is resolved and legal retention obligations are satisfied.

9. Security Safeguards

ConvertCalm runs within macOS App Sandboxing boundaries, enforcing strict isolation. Software binaries are signed for security verification.

10. Children's Privacy

ConvertCalm is a general utility application and is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA)

Users in the EU, UK, California, and other jurisdictions have rights regarding access, deletion, and restriction of personal data we control. Because ConvertCalm operates locally, most user data is controlled directly by you on your Mac.

12. Native macOS Integrations & Automation

ConvertCalm supports Finder Quick Actions, the macOS Shortcuts app (via AppIntents on macOS 14+), and a local convertcalm:// URL scheme so you can automate conversion workflows from other apps and scripts. These integrations run entirely on your Mac and do not transmit files or metadata to DamilanTech. If you choose to build a custom Shortcut or script that sends output files to a third-party app or cloud service, that transfer is governed by the privacy practices of that third-party tool, not by this Policy.
