Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: July 29, 2026
DockCalm is designed to work locally on your Mac. The app has no advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics, and DamilanTech does not operate a user-account or purchase database for DockCalm.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy describes how DamilanTech (“DamilanTech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in the DockCalm macOS application, on the DockCalm pages hosted at damilantech.com, and when you contact us about DockCalm. DamilanTech is the controller of personal information it receives directly through the website or support. Apple independently controls information it processes for the App Store, Apple Account, and StoreKit purchases.
2. Information handled by the app
Local configuration and content
DockCalm stores your preferences and content locally in its macOS app container. This may include dock layout, position, appearance, themes, app and folder references, recent-file settings, widget choices, notes, tasks, shortcut names, and language. DamilanTech does not receive this information through a developer server.
No advertising or profiling
The Mac app does not include advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking, third-party analytics, or technology intended to follow you across apps or websites. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
No DockCalm account
DockCalm does not require a DamilanTech account. Access is determined on-device using Apple-signed purchase entitlements associated with your Apple Account.
3. App Store purchases
Apple processes the Lifetime purchase, billing, refunds, and purchase restoration through the Mac App Store and StoreKit. DockCalm receives the product and entitlement status needed to unlock the app, including whether a transaction is valid, pending, refunded, or revoked. This entitlement processing occurs through Apple’s systems and on your device.
DamilanTech does not receive your full payment-card number and does not maintain its own DockCalm purchase database. Apple may provide developers with aggregated sales and financial reports under Apple’s policies. For Apple’s practices, review Apple’s Privacy Policy .
4. Applications, files, folders, and permissions
When you add an application, file, or folder, DockCalm uses macOS selection panels, drag and drop, and security-scoped bookmarks so the app can remember and reopen the item you chose. These bookmarks and paths are stored locally. DockCalm accesses only items you select or locations for which macOS grants permission.
If you enable Recent Files, DockCalm may read file metadata from permitted locations, including read-only access to Downloads, to display relevant local items. It does not upload their names, contents, or metadata to DamilanTech. Opening an item is performed by macOS. You can remove an item from a dock, revoke permissions in System Settings, or delete local app data.
5. Widgets and system readings
Widgets may process local information such as date and time, calendar presentation, battery level, storage capacity, CPU and memory activity, network throughput, thermal state, system volume, notes, tasks, and names of macOS Shortcuts you configure. These readings are used to render widgets or perform the action you request and are not transmitted to DamilanTech.
Some quick controls open the relevant macOS setting or Apple service. DockCalm does not override macOS permission controls. Shortcuts are invoked through mechanisms provided by macOS and may separately process information according to the actions and third-party services you place inside those Shortcuts.
6. Backups, recovery, and diagnostics
DockCalm can create a local backup of its supported configuration and can restore a backup you select. It can also create a privacy-conscious diagnostic report about app and system status. These files remain in a location you choose and are not automatically uploaded. If you send a backup or diagnostic report to us, we process the information it contains to provide support, investigate defects, or protect the service.
Review exported files before sharing them. Delete exported backups and diagnostics when you no longer need them.
7. Website preferences, server logs, and support
Website
The DockCalm pages do not include advertising or analytics trackers. They use browser local storage only to remember your language preference. The website’s hosting infrastructure may necessarily process technical information such as IP address, requested page, browser or device type, date and time, and security logs to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability. Retention depends on operational and hosting-security needs.
Support communications
If you email us, we receive the address, name or signature you provide, message contents, attachments, and related correspondence. We use this information to answer you, troubleshoot, maintain records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send passwords, payment-card data, or unrelated sensitive information.
8. When information may be disclosed
We may use service providers for website hosting and email delivery, subject to appropriate contractual or legal protections. Apple provides App Store and purchase services under its own terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect users or the public, investigate fraud or security issues, enforce our terms, or complete a corporate transaction such as a merger or asset transfer. We do not permit service providers to use support information for their own advertising.
9. Retention and deletion
Local app information remains on your Mac until you modify it, remove it, reset DockCalm, or delete the app and its associated container, subject to macOS backup behavior. Exported files remain wherever you save them. Support messages are retained only as reasonably needed to respond, maintain support and security records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Technical website logs are retained according to legitimate operational and security requirements.
You can request deletion of personal information we hold through support, subject to legal exceptions. We cannot delete information held solely by Apple or local data that we never receive.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of information we control. DockCalm uses Apple platform protections including sandboxing and StoreKit verification. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for securing your Mac, Apple Account, exported files, and backups.
11. Children
DockCalm is a general productivity utility and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through DockCalm. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent us personal information may contact us to request review and deletion.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding personal information we control, and to appeal or complain to a data-protection authority. California and other U.S. state residents may also have rights to know, correct, or delete covered information and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so no sale/sharing opt-out is required for DockCalm.
To exercise a right, email us with enough detail to identify the relevant support interaction. We may verify the request and may retain information where legally permitted. You will not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights. Most app data is local and can be controlled directly on your Mac.
13. International processing
Website and support providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms and safeguards. Mandatory privacy and consumer protections available in your jurisdiction are not waived by this Policy.
14. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy when DockCalm, legal requirements, or our practices change. We will revise the date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
